Optimal Design and Experimental Verification of Low Radiation Noise of Gearbox

Abstract Reducing the radiated noise of a gearbox is difficult problem in aviation, navigation, machinery, and other fields. Structural improvement main means reduction for gearbox, it realized primarily through contribution analysis structure optimization. However, these approaches have certain limitations. In this study, low-noise design method that combines two proposed, experimental verification performed. First, finite element/boundary element model established using single-stage herringbone gearbox. Considering vibration excitation gear system, radiation predicted based on modal acoustic transfer vector (MATV) method. Subsequently, maximum field point determined, (ATV) (MAC) are conducted to determine region contributes significantly point. The optimization selected panel (PAC) analysis. Next, reduce normal speed region, topology According results, four different structures added models respectively. Finally, by measuring before after under given working condition, validity prediction verified comparing simulation data. A comparison proves effect can be achieved only adding center density nephogram.
